Security

Security is implemented at an application level, this means that to administer users in a client or silo, the administrator must log in to that client or silo.

For an application user, logging into a Client Silo, access to functionality is restricted through the creation of Groups and Users to which permissions can be assigned. These Groups and Users can be stored in a folder structure within the administrative function.

Folders

Folders enable the organization of Groups and Users, but are not related to folders within the application Document Explorer. The default top level folder is named 'Security'. Folders can be added to the top level folder or can be added as child folders to other folders within Security. It is not possible to set or inherit permissions from folders; their functionality is solely for organization of Groups and Users.

Groups

A Group is a unique profile of permissions, represented by the Group icon. Groups can be used as a quick method of assigning the same set of permissions to multiple Users. Users inherit the permissions of any Group they are a member of.

Groups can also be members of other groups, from which additional permissions are inherited.

Users

A User is a unique profile of permissions, represented by a User icon.
